BETSY JOLAS Ces belles années… — European premiere, commissioned by London Symphony Orchestra, Festival d’Aix-en-Provence and Cleveland Orchestra — Publisher: Alphonse Leduc Éditions Musicales — WITH THE SUPPORT OF SACEM
GUSTAV MAHLERSymphony No. 7 in E minor called "Song of the Night"

As a counterpoint to Wozzeck, Sir Simon Rattle and the London Symphony Orchestra present the fantastic and grotesque accents of Mahler's Seventh Symphony, oscillating between night-time homage to nature and caricature of military bands. After the song of the Earth in 2021, here is the song of the night. This symphonic evening opens with the European premiere of a serene work by Betsy Jolas, which the Festival is co-commissioning as part of a portrait dedicated to her.
